HI Mandy,

Honestly, I have no idea what else I'd do with this piece.

I am glad you like it.

Thanks!

Though written in first person, this is not from MY point of view. It is a man who is awakened by his wife, but at fist he thinks it is his mistress. He hates himself because he knows he is going to be leaving his wife soon. He turns away from her and she cries.
Hope this helps!

I quit commenting this poem, because I don't know if I want to comment on your poem or the emotion behind it, or the suspence that will sound nosy. I was touched.

This is very thought-provoking, Jennifer. I wonder what has a hold of you? What do you hate and need to set free? Is it the dream? I'm kind of dense, and I don't have time to read the poem again to contemplate these issues.

Jennifer- why do you always make me cry! I wish more people could read this. The bankers and the millionaires whinning about bank collapses or even the people that just found out that their 500,000 dollar house is now worth on 200,000. Reality check. There are real people suffering from more than deflated stocks. People who need foo and money and a smile. I'm glad you stopped to help.

O you make me feel horrible. Any time we feel sorry for ourselves we need to remind ourselves there are wrose off than us. When we were in Haiti this summer I saw kids begging at the fences wanting food. Here I was on my big expensive cruise, eating whateve, whenever, and these kids were hungry. I have always wished I could live on a crribean island, but now I see that the price of a beutiful view might just be too much, it might be poverhhty

Such powerful writing. It's easy to turn a blind eye or deaf ear when you've never dealt with the idea of what can I feed my child for dinner. Rest assured things do get better. And if they don't, turn to your SI group. We are here for more than revisions on paper. We count ourselves blessed to count you as a friend.
